Bedford sits in northeast Tarrant County north of the West Fork of the Trinity, with State Highway 121 cutting through the middle of it and DFW International Airport just east. Seventy Million Into The Parks
Voters passed a 70 million dollar parks bond in November 2017 and the council put 64.5 million of it into the Phase Next build out. Generations Park at Boys Ranch now holds an indoor pool with two slides, an outdoor water park with a lazy river, a three field ball complex and an 18 hole disc golf course with water in play.
The Ranch Became The Park
Bedford Boys Ranch was a home for wayward boys, and about 100 of the town’s residents lived there in the early 1950s. In 1974 the old ranch became the largest park in town, which is why the ball fields and the water park share one address on Forest Ridge Drive.
Trails Without Leaving Town
East End Trail Park is a 32 acre linear park with a mile and a half of jogging and walking trail, and Stormie Jones Park adds 13 more acres with its own loop. Hurst Euless Bedford ISD runs better than 30 campuses across the three towns, so the fall calendar fills up early and the RV has to fit around it.
